A very successful event held at St John's Methodist Church in Whitstable on 7 May 2016 raised £875 for the Canterbury Food Bank.
Entertainment was provided by Diana Whybrow, Whitstable Recorder Group, Naomi Ash and friends from PPA and pupils from Boughton School and Kent College. A tombola, a raffle which included donations from Sainsbury's, Morrisons, Waitrose, Caprice Hairdressers in Whitstable and local potter Keith Brymer Jones, cake, flower and gift stalls were among the attractions and coffee, cake and lunches were enjoyed.
It was a pleasure to welcome the Sheriff of Canterbury Cllr Robert Jones and his wife and also Cllr George Metcalfe and Mrs Metcalfe. The money raised will enable the Food Bank to continue to support people in crisis in the community.
