Internship

Canterbury Food Bank is looking for an intern. They will learn meaningful, practical work skills over a six month period and get paid for what they do.

The charity is one of the biggest of its kind in the country – it delivered enough food to make 123,000 meals last year – so the intern will be very busy.

Whoever gets the post will experience life at the coal face of the charity sector.

They will work in the warehouse, go out on food collections and deliveries and even learn a little of how the finances work.

The internship is for 15 hours a week over three days between 9am and 2pm and the pay is £12 an hour.

Anyone 18 or over is welcome to apply and there’s no need for previous experience at a charity.

People who work at the food bank are proud of what they do – and the new intern will be too.

This post will contribute to Canterbury Food Bank being able to deliver its core objective of:

“Supporting local individuals and families in financial crisis by providing emergency food”.

Please email your CV and covering letter to: info@canterburyfoodbank.org no later than the closing date.

The covering letter is a critical part of your application. The selection process for interview will be based on your CV and information you provide in your covering letter.

In this letter, please explain why you want to be considered for this internship and what skills you hope to learn. Please also include any hobbies, personal achievements, and interests you may have.

Closing date is Friday 25 October 2024 at 12 noon.
